"Dear Dr. Bonilla-Warford,
I wanted to let you know how our daughter has progressed since she
went through vision therapy with you. As you remember, we had become
very frustrated with her school struggles on all levels, due to her
reluctance to (or our perceived reluctance) to read. Little did we know
that her eye muscles weren’t working properly and making the process so
difficult to begin with!! Teachers would tell us “she just needs to
read more”. The extra hours we spent going over her class work at home,
and the length of time it required to complete homework gave us many a
tearful evening. Her self esteem suffered, and the school year was very
tedious.
It was a chance article in the newspaper that brought the
possibility of a vision deficiency (convergence) to light for us, and
after our e-mail communications with you, decided to have her
evaluated. Your diagnosis of her condition, and how vision therapy
could correct the problem was a God-send to us. I am still amazed at
how she progressed so well, and so quickly. We were certainly dedicated
to the therapy, and were not deterred by the 2 1/2 hour drive to reach

To say the therapy was a success is an understatement. What a life
changing success it has been for all of us! We continue to see her
excel at school, and in new hobbies as well. She tells us reading is
“easy” now, and her fluency reflects this in her testing. She actually
likes to read, and has started choosing higher grade level books to
read just for pleasure. Homework is a breeze, and she willingly does it
on her own, in a normal timely manner. We have noticed that her eye
hand coordination has improved greatly, as she now will play video
games that she otherwise would avoid because “she wasn’t good at it”.
Her art work in class has improved also. Her confidence and attitude
are positive, and home life is much calmer these days. We are so
grateful to you for your expertise and care.
If only other children with reading struggles could be evaluated for
these problems, and receive the care they need. It could change the

needed a great family eye doctor because I am very nearsighted and have
had some problems. After many visits there for myself, I wouldn't go
anywhere else! In addition, our son (8 years old) was having problems
with his handwriting and his teacher suggested we take him for a visit
to the eye doctor. Dr. Bonilla-Warford determined that his eyes
weren't working properly and prescribed bifocal lenses for him. He
also suggested that he would benefit from vision therapy, so we did a
few months of vision therapy which helped him tremendously!! He now
has no need for bifocals and is doing fabulous! He loved vision
therapy and talks about Dr. B. all the time. I highly recommend Dr.
Bonilla-Warford, and the office staff is always so helpful and

asses/examine our daughters' eyes & her vision. Initally, we
visited out of mere convenience, since we live in West Park Village
& we could walk to his practice. Having been in the industry for
many years myself, I am likely overly aware of what should take place
during a thorough eye examination. I was more than impressed with the
level of care, interest, concern & overall treatment that we
received by Dr. Bonillia - Warford & his staff. Our daughter
definately needed glasses. Last year, when back for a routine examine,
we learned that our daughter's prescription had doubled & she was
becoming acutely myopic (near-sighted). Dr. B did some extensive
evaluations & determined that our daughter was also suffering from
strabismus (a condition where the eyes are not working together to
focus). This can cause multiple problems for many children, especially
academically. Immediately, we began weekly vision therapy right there
@ Bright Eyes. We did this for 6 months & the change in our
daughters' overall focus (using both eyes) was amazing. Last summer,
after therapy was complete, we received the "okay" from Dr. B to try
'Ortho -K' (corneal reshaping) for our daughter. This process
eliminates the need for wearing glasses everyday & for kids....this
is outstanding. Our daughter wears hard contact lenses to sleep every
night & we remove them in the morning. She is 20/20 all day long.
I cannot tell you what a blessing this has been. Because she is so
myopic, even simple events (like swimming) were tricky because she
would have to remove her glasses @ the pool & at that point she
could not see much of anything & she would squint terribly. We
began the corneal reshaping last summer & she is still doing
amazing. Dr. Bonilla -Warford is our hero. His sweet wife (who is the
contact specialist) & their great staff are an asset to the
businesses of West Park Village. For the greater portion of a year we
were in his practice every week. What an amazing bunch of people.....
